THE MARMOLADA AND ITS SURROUNDINGS

The Marmolada is the highest pick of the Dolomites and, with its 3343 m (about 10. 968 ft), is among the highest mountains in the Alps.
On a clear day, you may even see it, in all her superb beauty, while strolling away in Venice, 100 km away. The Marmolada is the perfect destination for both summer and winter holidays: during the warmer months, you can indulge your need for fresh air and nature by choosing to follow one of the many tracks that bring up and around the massive, or choose to take the aerial tramway that will bring you all the way up to the Punta Rocca, at 3309 m (10.856 ft). What you’ll see from up there, is an experience which you’ll never forget: there’s something, in being on top of an Alpine mountain, that changes you a bit inside, that makes one wonder at how beauty can be so breathtaking, yet so simple. And once you’ll be back ‘a baita’, in the valley, and sitting in the commodity of your room, sipping a lovely coffee, you won’t find the right words to describe it, maybe because in the end, there are no words to express what the mountains can share with you.
And if you’re more of skier, or more simply, you’ve your holidays booked for the winter, the Marmolada’ll be just as charming and will welcome you with the same allure. With the many kilometers of the Superski slope compound, you’ll discover the magic of snow and learn how bright and beautiful the sun is, up in the Alps, surrounded only by dazzling brightness and the bluest of skies. Skiing makes us all go back a bit to when we were kids: for us children of the Alps, having skis at our feet is like second nature. You should learn, too and discover the peaceful yet adrenaline charged experience that skiing is. And then, after a day on the slopes, relax, in the evening : a good aperitivo, a nice earthy, dinner ( I think we’ll be talking about food soon, guys!) followed by a nice, strong grappa on front of the fire. And how well you’ll sleep, after a day in the purest of air- and such good food!- cuddled by the moon, the snow and the mountains, getting ready for another, incredible , enchanted day on the slopes of the Marmolada!
